Thames Hospicecare
Based in Windsor and Ascot, Thames Hospicecare provides a comprehensive range of palliative care services to those people and their families coping with a life limiting condition. It was founded over 20 years ago and since then has touched the lives of thousands of local people.
It is the cornerstone of hospice care that services are provided free and to continue to provide them requires us to raise a huge amount of money each year. 70p of every £1 spent on services has to be raised by various fundraising efforts to cover the annual cost of £5m.
THc employs around 150 people including Nurses and Doctors, support staff such as maintenance and housekeeping and various administration staff along with those who work in our shops to help raise the funds we need each year.
To give you an idea of those costs:
£15 will pay for 1 hour of specialist nursing care.
£60 will pay for 1 hour of Hospice at Home nursing.
£150 will pay for 1 session at our Day Support Unit.
£570 will pay for 1 night in our In Patient Unit.
